Maxx Is 9 Months Old

Maxx is 9 months old and crawling all over the place.  When he really gets going, it looks like he is shaking his hips back and forth and his legs swing from side to side, moving him forward.

He can do the splits!  He will push himself up from his belly into a sitting position, with his legs out to each side.  It is quite amazing.

Maxx is finding his voice.  Why does it have to be a high pitched squeal?  Is he trying to round up the neighborhood dogs? 

He likes making raspberries; spitting & drooling, all the while.

Maxx likes to play catch, by himself.  I guess it's more like fetch.  He throws a ball or toy, then he goes to get it and throws it again.

He likes to pound on things with his bare hands, like he is playing bongos; or with a toy; or with a stick.  He especially likes to bang toys on the hardwood floors.  Louder and more gratifying sound.

He still puts everything in his mouth.  In addition to the bits of carpet, paper and random scraps dropped here and there, he has recently found coins, tiny bits of plastic wrappers, a marble sized chunk of hamburger (from last night's dinner - yuck!) and one of Kyla's small hair bands.  I'm considering gating off a Maxx-proof room to keep him contained for short periods of time.  That way, I won't have to chase him every 3 minutes and retrieve him from the bathroom, laundry room, pantry, cat door, wine rack, etc., etc., etc.  Repeat.  Just have to figure out what to do with the breakable furniture that currently occupies the room.

Maxx loves the water!  He gets so excited to take a bath!  He flails his arms and kicks his legs and squeals like a crazy baby.  You might think he was actually afraid of the water, if he didn't have a huge grin on his face.

Maxx is getting so big.  He still has very little interest in standing or walking.  He pulls himself up on his knees, but that's about it for now.  He's not a big eater and doesn't even fuss much when he is hungry.  I have to stay on top of his feeding schedule, otherwise, he'd be happy to go without. He's such a mild-mannered, happy little guy.  We live in fear of the day when he gets angry.  I'm sure all hell will break loose!
