So she says...

Some of the cute (and less cute) things that Kyla is saying these days:

• Be back! - Indicating that she wants you to stay put and she'll be right back.  This is usually accompanied by an index finger pointing at you to "stay."  She has also started doing the "come with me" finger gesture, but with all fingers.  It kind of looks like she's grabbing at the air.
• Kyla do wit - Don't help.
• My Kyla (shirt, toy, fill in the blank) - It's mine.
• My Kyla do wit - I'm going to do it, with extra emphasis.
• Oh geez! - We think someone at daycare must say this.  Kyla will drop something and say it.  Then, she'll purposefully drop it again and repeat it.  Not that it's a bad phrase, but we are trying to get her to say "oh no" or something else.  It just doesn't sound right coming out of the mouth of a 2-year old!  I am afraid that it has become second nature to her now, though.  She says it automatically, almost without thinking.
• Daddy ki-ko - Dad's motorcycle.
• Happy to you - Happy Birthday.
• One, two, go! - First version of counting.  Stems from Jedd teaching her to jump off things, "one, two, three...  go!"  She seems to have a particular aversion to the number 3.  She will say any other number, except three.  She really makes us work (trick her) for "three."
• Ah-boa - pick me up.  Not sure where this one came from or what word she is actually trying to say.
• She occasionally calls me Kim.  It's kind of cute.  For now.
• Bhome - phone.
• Elmo - This indicates an elbow or Elmo.
• Butter-bye - Butterfly.
• Riddit, riddit - what the frogs say.  She has recently taken to hopping in an over-exaggerated manner, well, like a frog, while saying it.  
• What doin' Mama? - What are you doing?
• Where go-a Daddy? - Where did Daddy go?  This is usually accompanied by shrugged shoulders, hands lifted with palms up, head tilted to the side and an inquisitive look on her face.
• Kyla is starting to understand the power of words (and how to use them to manipulate).  She will say/yell "Owie!" when she doesn't want us to pick her up, when we grab her from running away or try to keep her from doing something we have asked her not to.  Oh, the drama!
• She is starting to sing (recognizable) songs.  Current favorites are Kinko-Kinko (Twinkle Twinkle), The Itsy-Bitsy Spider, ABC's, Rock-a-bye Baby and Happy to You (Happy Birthday).  
• She also kept saying "no, no mon-key, bad!"  To which we would ask, why is the monkey bad?  Then one night when we were in LA in the car with Jamie & Clara, Kyla said this again.  Immediately Clara starting singing "five little monkeys jumping on the bed!"  Ohhhhh...  No more monkeys jumping on the bed!
• She says "uh-oh" anytime something is out of place (in her opinion).  One night last week we had to move the mattress she was sleeping on after she had fallen asleep and we put her back to sleep on the much smaller crib mattress.  When she woke up in the morning, she looked down and pointed and said "uh-oh!"  Then she looked over at the crib, with no mattress and said "uh-oh!"  After repeating this a couple of times, she pointed at the mattress and said "'way?" meaning she wanted to put it 'away' back in the crib.
