4-month update

July has been a busy month so far!
July 1st - Chelan with the Perrys. Kyla & Tyler got to go for their first swim in the kiddie pool. Scroll down to previous post to see the video.

July 4th - Independence Day BBQ with Connors & Johnsons. Highlights of the day were taking the wagon down the hill at the park; Olivia & Cameron splashing in the pool sans bathing suits; Cameron enjoying a blue frosted cupcake.

July 6th - Kyla rolled over from back to belly. She's got it down now and she loves to do it. The only problem is that she tires of being on her tummy after about 15 minutes and doesn't know how to roll the other direction. And then she gets frustrated and angry and cries.

July 7th - Dinner with our very good family friends, Jerry & Art.

July 8th - Late Father's Day celebration at Kristin's new condo. Pat & Kay were in Hawaii over Father's Day. Since Kristin and the Perry fam were not able to make it to Hawaii, we had to celebrate later.

July 13th - Happy Birthday to Grandma Kay! During the day, we had lunch at Wilder to say hi to everyone again. Our last visit was about a month ago. That evening, Grandma, Papa & Kristin came out to Monroe to spend the night. We BBQ'd and watched The Queen. The next day we had breakfast at Patty's Eggnest and we all headed off to the Arlington Airshow where we were able to meet up with Kurt & Sarah.

July 15th - Worked in the yard. I have not weeded all year and it's REALLY starting to show. Kyla wasn't too much into this chore (can I blame her?). I think mostly because she was not being paid enough attention nor being adequately entertained by us.

July 19th - Back to Chelan to stay with Grandma Lynn & Grandpop. Kyla made her first razzing noises this weekend. It is quite humorous. She has to use all of the muscles in her face; she furrows her brow, tucks in her lower lip and looks very serious. Saturday, the Duvall clan arrived at Wapato and we all had a fun dinner together.

Kyla is doing so much these days. Tons of smiles, giggles and talking. She has recently started discovering that scratching her nails provides an unusual sensation as well as a really annoying noise (that she seems to enjoy). So she scratches her nails on everything - the wood grain table at Wilder; the wall when she's on the changing table; my back when she's nursing; the straps of her car seat... I think a tooth may be in our near future. She is starting to really go for those teething toys and of course everything and anything goes in the mouth.

We just had her 4-month check-up and Kyla is still high on the growth charts. Weight & head size are both at 75% and height is at 97%. We are very happy that she is so healthy, but if her growth rate continues like this through the toddler years, we'll be forced to ask ourselves if this is indeed our child!
